Co-ops while at school

I am just curious about the co-ops that were part of the school program at Antioch. My friend worked for a summer at a Maritime Museum in Maryland helping to refurbish old boats. Anyone want to share one of their co-ops and what they feel that they got out of it? I am really interested in ways that we can set up mentoring programs for kids nowadays. They need to be shown that learning something is fun.
